West Hollywood, Calif. to Require Green Buildings

West Hollywood, Calif., is enacting one of the nation´s first mandatory green building programs for private development in the country.
A new law covering building practices is now in effect and the city has created a Green Building Resource Center at City Hall to help showcase green building products and practices.
“The city has been a leading force in enacting policies to promote the environment. Passage of the green building ordinance continues this legacy and represents a truly collaborative effort between the public and the private sectors,” said Councilmember Abbe Land, a co-sponsor of the new law.
