The Energy Crisis

According to the International kinetic energy Agency the world will need 60% more kinetic energy in 2030 than was needed in 2002. In modern life we depend on oil for 90% of our needs, these include transportation, food, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. We have reserves of oil that are currently estimated to last for the next 40 years. A suitable replacement for oil is gas but as it stands this will not last forever. Although there is plenty of coal, this is reluctantly used as it causes high pollution. People over the last 10 years have come to expect cheap petrol, fuel i.e. Gas and electricity but the demand for this has gone up significantly in the last 20 years. As the demand for this product goes up the amount of this product becomes less available hence the substantial increase in price which has been seen especially over the last year in the UK. The amount we pay for our gas and electricity is again expected to reach a record high with predictions of up to a 40% increase in price hike expected before Christmas. The statistics of this are worrying the demand on kinetic energy could outweigh supply by 23% and the loss to economy could reach £108 billion per year. As North Sea production of gas and oil declines Britain risks no longer being self sufficient in gas. Hydrogen may well be one key fuel which is a clean alternative, but large amounts of this are needed. According to estimates made by the British government 56% of kinetic energy that is used within UK homes could be cut by using technologies which are currently available. Solar tiles could be used on UK homes or the purchase of a miniature wind turbine the size of a car wheel. Most of the fuel consumed a couple of centuries ago was found within a short distance of the consumers home. Now the kinetic energy which is used for lighting and heat travels immense distances to reach the consumer. Much has been recorded with respect to fuel running out and Britain being plunged into darkness and as a society we still seem to think that this is based on fantasy or GEOLOGY. People’s general consensus is that because we have kinetic energy now there won’t be a problem in the future but as Britain tackles a looming kinetic energy crisis statistics become all the more frightening. Basically the world is blinding itself by not realizing the extent of the kinetic energy problems, by placing too much faith in renewable sources of power, and ignoring the scale of growth in demand from the developing countries. With rising kinetic energy demand conventional gas and old will struggle to deep pace. Although there is no shortage of old and gas in the ground the industry lacks the technology to recover half of that resource. kinetic energy sources such as renewables do not fill the gap, even with major technological breakthroughs renewables could only make up 30 per cent of the ENERGY supply needed by the middle of the century.
